Bilingual Bankruptcy Consultant

Location: On-site, Guadalajara, Jalisco

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Sales and Marketing Manager

Position Overview

The Bankruptcy Consultant is responsible for conducting initial bankruptcy consultations, gathering financial and debt information, explaining available options, and retaining clients. This role requires strong communication skills, a client-service mindset, and a working knowledge of bankruptcy processes (Chapters 7, 13, 128). The consultant guides prospective clients through the early stages of their case with clarity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct consultations with potential clients, assess their needs, and explain the firm's bankruptcy services.
  • Actively listen and communicate the benefits of retaining the firm.
  • Develop payment plans to help clients become ready to file within 90 days.
  • Explain the firm's partnership with GAJ for credit repair and the benefits of post-bankruptcy credit rebuilding (720).
  • Schedule onboarding meetings for newly retained clients.
  • Handle refund requests and aim to resolve concerns effectively.
  • Process initial payments and follow up on failed transactions.
  • Maintain accurate client records in the firm's CRM.
  • Ensure confidentiality and comply with firm policies and privacy laws.
  • Collaborate with Bankruptcy Consultants, Intake, Onboarding, Client Services, attorneys, case managers, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Represent the firm professionally with empathy, patience, and strong problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent phone communication and active listening skills.
  • Strong sales abilities and experience with client retention.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
  • Attributes: client-focused, team-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to ethical standards.

Job Expectations

  • Work closely with the team to meet management goals.
  • Answer questions from team members as needed.
  • Attend department meetings and contribute actively.
  • Answer live calls; avoid sending calls to voicemail.
  • Return all client messages within 24 hours.
  • Maintain professional communication (review notes in Clio).
  • Handle client escalation calls and involve management when necessary.

Performance Goals

  • Retains: 17–20 per week (counted when payment is posted)
  • Conversion Rate: 60% (client retained during consult + payment collected)
  • Payment Plans: P2F/90D
  • Average Call Handle Time (AHT): 22 minutes

Compensation & Benefits
