The General Assembly Launch and Execution Head will be responsible to lead and coordinate the execution of all vehicle process engineering activities during Launches and Mid-Cycle Actions (MCA) for Mexico Operations.  Candidate would drive strategic activities for budget setting, timing and procurement of equipment, as well as installation and launch activities with a close relationship with Purchasing, Plant and Product Engineering.  This position drives the need for strong leadership in pursuit of optimal plant layout and process flow through collaboration of Industrial Engineering, Material Handling, Facility Engineering and Plant.  The Lead is responsible for processing, commissioning, debugging and start-up all manufacturing equipment and to meet launch metrics such as Launch Timing, OPE/OEE, all QC Metrics, cycle time, etc.  The GA Launch and Execution Head embraces and appreciates competition, demonstrates energy to deliver, act with integrity and respect, and keep things at their simplest and most innovative.  This position maintains Early Equipment Management workbooks to capture lessons learned for subsequent launches and continuously updates equipment standards and specifications based on prior launch experiences and new innovations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 15+ years' experience in Manufacturing, preferably GAPE VPE (GA)
  • Large scale project management experience
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Continuous Improvement (SPW/WCM) experience
  • Previous managerial and/or supervisory experience in Manufacturing, Operations, Quality
  • Ability to concisely communicate with the highest levels of leadership
  • Available to travel globally in support of vehicle launches
  • Spanish English Language. Medium-Advance level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced or Master's degree in Engineering 
  • New model vehicle launch experience on execution including manufacturing, operations and system integrators
  • Project Management Certification
  • Strong background in process development, controls & robotics, tooling design, automated systems
  • Strong background in throughput and bottleneck analysis
