They are seeking a HVAC Designer with deep technical expertise and hands-on experience designing HVAC systems from concept through construction. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on technically demanding projects and translating engineering intent into precise, buildable designs.

What You'll Do

Design HVAC systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial building projectsDevelop detailed mechanical layouts, ductwork and piping plans, schematics, and construction documents using AutoCAD and RevitPerform HVAC load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selectionCollaborate closely with mechanical engineers, electrical designers, architects, and project managers to ensure coordinated designsApply ASHRAE standards, local mechanical codes, and project-specific requirementsSupport construction administration, including reviewing submittals and responding to RFIsParticipate in site visits to verify existing conditions and ensure design accuracyEnsure designs are energy-efficient, code-compliant, and aligned with project goalsContribute to the continuous improvement of internal design standards and workflows

 



What You Need

10 years of experience in HVAC design for commercial, healthcare, life sciences, or industrial buildingsStrong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (required)Solid understanding of HVAC systems, components, and design methodologiesExperience with HVAC load calculations and equipment sizingWorking knowledge of ASHRAE, mechanical codes, and industry standardsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction documentsStrong analytical skills with close attention to detailClear verbal and written communication skillsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred



Salary & Perks

Competitive salary based on experienceFull-time, long-term positionIndependent contractor agreementFully remote (work from home)Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (+/- 1 hour accepted) – EST / CST
