ASMPT in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico is looking for a Software Development Expert to lead the planning, development, and implementation of critical software projects for ASMPT machines across Mexico, the USA, Canada, and Brazil.

Summary:

  • This role involves recommending ASMPT's best-in-class solutions to customers and ASMPT's Sales team based on customer requirements.
  • The individual will develop and implement innovative software solutions to meet customers' needs and provide in-depth application support throughout all stages of machine sales.
  • Key skills include structured problem-solving, solution development, and clear communication.
  • This role requires extensive domestic and international travel (up to 50%).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of MES-related projects, from planning to execution, acting as the expert on all software installations, configurations, and structured troubleshooting in complex software scenarios.
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of new software tools (Smart Factory Solutions) tailored to specific customer requirements. Conduct interviews and workshops to gather detailed requirements, analyze customer business processes, ensure feasibility, and align with customer goals.
  • Design and develop software solutions and architectures using ASMPT's Software Portfolio, including databases and interfaces for new applications. Collaborate with ASMPT engineers to develop, test, implement, and support software throughout its lifecycle.
  • Document all developed solutions or implemented software scenarios.
  • Provide training and hotline support for developed solutions.
  • Ensure the sustainability of solutions by addressing bug fixes.
  • Gain a deep understanding of the customer's production lifecycle and workflows. Recommend and implement the appropriate ASMPT toolset (hardware and software) to optimize the customer's shop floor workflow, from planning to NPI, changeover, and volume production.
  • Provide support to customers and peers on all current ASMPT software products and related SMT processes, optimizing critical performance areas such as OEE, product quality, and capacity.
  • Manage customer evaluations of ASMPT software, defining the scope, boundary conditions, evaluation criteria, expected outcomes, and duration. Install, run, and manage the evaluation, ensuring all criteria are met within the specified time.
  • Ensure regular communication with stakeholders and document results for presentation to the customer.
  • Build strong working relationships with peers and management to facilitate efficient cross-functional collaboration.
  • Perform other duties as required by the manager.

Position Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
  • Knowledge in Programming Languages C# and or VB.Net
  • Knowledge with Webservices, WCF and WPF development.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Operating System: Linux, Win 7/Win 10/Win 11 and Windows 2008/2012/2016 Server.
  • Familiar with ASP.NET JavaScript, Ajax, JQuery Web development skill.
  • Familiar with SQL database, be able to SQL database design, SQL server management and application.
  • Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot complex software products and systems.
  • Ability to develop new software on all stages: Planning, Coding, Testing, Implementing.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills – Spanish and English
  • Outstanding presentation skills ability to translate technical data into meaningful information
  • Experience with IPC-CFX, IPC-HERMES, SECS/GEM, iTAC, or any other standard is preferred.
  • Knowledge with Power BI programming is preferred but not required
  • 5 years SMT or related industry experience preferred
  • SIPLACE experience preferred but not required
