The Continuous Improvement (CI) Coordinator collaborates with site or corporate group teams to develop and implement a Continuous improvement roadmap. The CI Coordinator spends much of their time improving processes using lean tools. This role is focused on measurable business results and governance. The CI Coordinator will utilize their skills to help facilitate improvement and simplification of processes in the site. Be an active/promoter of Panduit's key initiatives including but not limited to Safety, Culture of Accountability (PIL), TWI, and Best Practice Sharing.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Results Through Waste Elimination - 45%

  • Participate, lead or facilitate Lean Improvement activities in and outside of the group or site
  • Oversee and gain necessary support/resources for multiple concurrent improvement projects of low to medium technical complexity in all areas of division/group
  • Use applicable problem-solving methodologies, Lean A3, Root Cause Analysis, PDCA tools for each project including large problems identified by management and small every day improvement identified by area work teams.
  • Work with process owners to create and improve company's metrics and goals.
  • Create systems and processes for sustainment of improvements which ensure accountability resides with process owners. Design metrics to implement and measure improvements.
  • Measure and quantify cost benefits for your group or site.

Personal Development - 25%

  • Develop personal Continuous Improvement expertise and become the local Lean subject matter expert through training and mentoring and application of tools on identified problems within the site/group.
  • Support team/site with implementing change and change management. 
  • Develop understanding of Company Metrics and Panduit Financial Reports to ensure the correct problems are targeted and results are accurately reported.
  • Develop strong coaching and conflict management skills in order to work effectively with a large range of personalities to develop accountability, transparency, and rapid, fact-based decision making.

Continuous Improvement Consultation and Employee Development - 15%

  • Ensure all within the group/site understand the difference between waste and value-added activities and can easily identify them in their daily work.
  • Mentor key staff and employees through projects, training, and coaching (standard work, A3 problem-solving, visual management, value stream mapping, etc.)
  • Develop strong problem-solving skills
  • Local continuous improvement development
  • Collaboration with Training to deploy initiatives that impact both training and process improvement

Program Management - 10%

  • Work with Steering Team including site or group leadership and Corporate Continuous Improvement Representatives to develop Program Strategy, Vision, Project Roadmap, SMART goals, Project Plans and Metrics in-line with the Company and Site objectives. (Governance)
  • Post upcoming Continuous Improvement events and success stories for process improvement local initiatives, awards, etc.
  • Track, monitor and assess local Continuous Improvement Program (Suggestion Program, Savings, Certifications, Cookbook Progress, Recognition, etc.) in order to continuously improve the Continuous Improvement Culture.

Corporate Process Improvement Program Support - 5%

  • Provide input and possible solutions to improve the Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Collaborate with other Panduit Locations by participating in kaizens and Value Stream Maps (VSMs) at other sites (e.g., support processes for M&A integrations)
  • Complete miscellaneous activities on time and to expectation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required Degree:  At least second year college undergrad or 2 years of relevant job experience in lieu of degree coursework

Preferred Degree:  Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or 4 years of relevant job experience in lieu of degree

Certificate:  PI Bronze within 6 months of hire. PI Silver within 12 months of hire. Yellow Belt

Experience:  

  • 1 – 3 years in Lean or Process improvement
  • Internal Lean Co-Driver or equivalent lean experience

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  1 – 2 times annually within the theatre in which they work.  International travel possible 1 – 2 times tri-annually.
