About the Position:

We are looking for a Material Planner  to join the Logistic AL&S  team, reporting directly to the Logistic Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Cd. Juarez, Mex; Plant 1
 

As the Material Planner at Marelli, you will be responsible for garantee raw material supply, ensure receipt of requirement information and prevent production line stoppages.

Your Responsibilities will be:


• Ensure receipt of requirement information to guarantee coverage for each part number.
Analyze material requirements for short, medium, and long term. Send releases to suppliers weekly once MRP is validated. Confirm shipments with suppliers. Maintain inventory levels according to corporate objectives.


• Guarantee fulfillment of customer/production requirements.
Evaluate feasibility with suppliers (considering capacity, materials, etc.) for customer schedules. Conduct daily shortage reviews and weekly long-term reviews to ensure compliance of overseas supplier shipments. Participate with the Planning Manager in production schedule changes. Review the Transitory report, ensuring no invoices remain unreceived.


• Guarantee raw material supply.
Download supplier delivery schedules issued by the system and analyze data to ensure consistency with production plans. Ensure releases are sent to suppliers and confirm their acceptance. Follow up supplier shipments according to previously issued plans and coordinate:

  • Shipment
  • Transit
  • Customs (export and import)
  • Receipt at plant
  • Quality release
  • Claims for quantity, damages, or material losses


• Prevent production line stoppages.
Expedite material (with prior authorization) if arrivals or current inventory do not meet production plan requirements.


• Ensure inventory control.
Together with the Warehouse Manager, verify procedures for efficient receipt and storage of materials.


• Daily review of receipts in the system to prevent Credit Hold issues.
Review daily provisions and discrepant invoices. Request advance payment from suppliers where terms and conditions apply.


• Ensure coverage for new projects.
Coordinate coverage for new projects, minimizing excess or obsolete inventory due to end-of-life projects or engineering changes.

What Qualifications you will bring:

EDUCATION LEVEL:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Processes, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

LANGUAGE:
English: Advanced

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years of experience in the position and/or similar or related activities, preferably in the automotive or auto parts industry, or in plastic injection (desirable).

EXPERIENCE THAT MAY SUBSTITUTE EDUCATION LEVEL:
5 years of experience in the position within the automotive or auto parts industry, or in plastic injection (desirable).

Ensure a steady, uninterrupted flow of materials to meet production and customer requirements, minimizing shortages and excess inventory.

2. Accurate Planning & Forecasting:
Analyze demand and inventory levels to create material plans that align with production schedules. Adjust plans proactively according to business needs and market changes.

3. Strong Supplier Coordination:
Develop positive relationships with suppliers, issue timely releases, confirm shipments, and follow up to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with quality standards.

4. Attention to Detail & Data Quality:
Maintain accurate records in ERP/MRP systems, review documents and reports, and ensure material transactions are error-free.

5. Problem-Solving Mindset:
Identify potential risks (such as shortages or delays) early and collaborate with team members and suppliers to resolve issues efficiently.

6. Inventory Optimization:
Monitor and control inventory levels in line with corporate guidelines, minimizing obsolete, excess, and slow-moving stock.

7. Compliance Commitment:
Follow Marelli's policies and procedures and ensure compliance with quality, environmental, health, and safety standards (IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.).

8. Effective Communication:
Communicate clearly and professionally within cross-functional teams (production, warehouse, supply chain, and management), as well as with external partners.

9. Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to initiatives that improve supply chain processes, optimize costs, and support operational excellence.

10. Adaptability & Team Collaboration:
Respond constructively to changes (engineering, new projects, supplier issues) and work closely with colleagues to deliver best results for Marelli.
