The Demand Planner will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and execute the Sales & Operations activity based on input from the cross functional teams within IS BU.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop effective forecast models based on customer input, industry trends, and demand patterns
  • Actively participate in weekly / monthly cross-functional planning meetings with Procurement, Sales and Operations to discuss trends and issues
  • Actively participate in weekly / monthly cross-functional planning meetings with Marketing, Sales and Operations to discuss trends and issues
  • Work closely with Supply Chain & Material Planning to communicate forecast adjustments especially changes made within product lead times
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities
  • Propose, analyze, and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
  • Monitor and report on important changes in customer demand
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance
  • Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Participate in the NPI process to provide and receive input for an effective change/launch.
  • Evaluate and analyze monthly forecast accuracy to determine root cause and initiate long-term corrective actions
  • Follow ISO 9000 procedures and instructions that pertain to the position
  • Follow the Ethics & Behavior politics by AMETEK ISC division

Experience:  (Technical, functional, and/or leadership experience required )

  • In a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment.
  • 2 -3 years' experience in forecasting, analyzing customer demand & inventory management
  • Analyzing and interpreting large amounts of data.

Education& Knowledge ( Degree, training, or certification required )

  • College degree in Business Administration, or Industrial Engineering
  • APICS/CPIM certification (preferred)
  • Bilingual (Spanish – English)
  • Knowledge on ORACLE (preferred)
  • Knowledge on ERP/MRP systems
  • Knowledge on production planning principles
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel & MS Office suite
