Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university is required5+ years' experience in assembly line design and deployment, automation industry or high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.PLC programming (SE offers) including configuring and designing HMI systems is requiredFamiliar with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)Familiar with Motion & Robotic Systems (FANUC, ABB)Knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN, Profibus, etc.)Experience with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systemsBasic understanding of UL Standard, NFPA 79, National Electric CodeStrong communication skills in English (written and verbal)Proven ability to work independently in a multicultural virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, mfg operations and others)Proven ability to influence and convince through negotiationMotivated self-starter, who can work in parallel on multiple projectsFacilitator to drive problem solving and troubleshooting activities

The role covers everything for subassembly or final assembly automation equipment from concept through development with a fully qualified process acceptance into Operations. Up to 50% travel within North America may be expected.

What do you get to do in this position? 

Create assembly line architecture and specificationsCreate automated equipment/machine specificationsWork with external suppliers to design and deploy assembly lines, including automated equipmentInterpret mechanical design drawings for electrical controls requirements (Creo)Develop PLC and HMI programs for automated equipmentIntegrate machines and assembly lines into MIS and plants' digital manufacturing execution systemsPlan and provide detailed training on equipment design, maintenance and troubleshooting to various customer skillSupport of existing equipment designs, and production issues will be required both locally and at various sites globallyMaintain up to date knowledge of equipment technologies and utilizes this knowledge to specify and develop innovative solutionsUtilize continuous improvement methodology to improve internal industrial processes
