GAR Mexico is looking for an Operations Manager to lead and scale our distribution business in Mexico.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and knows logistics inside out — from imports and customs to tank storage, transportation, invoicing, and customer service. You'll work closely with key partners across ports, terminals, warehouses, suppliers, and customers, making sure everything runs smoothly and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations, from inventory and transportation to distribution.

• Oversee tank and warehouse stock management, ensuring smooth inbound and outbound flows.

• Manage customs and import processes in coordination with agents to ensure compliance and efficiency.

• Coordinate trucking and carrier selection to deliver cost-effective transport solutions.

• Use ERP systems (SAP a plus) to track inventory, shipments, and key operations.

• Oversee invoicing and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Build strong customer relationships through reliable service and timely deliveries.

• Drive continuous improvement by solving operational challenges and optimizing costs.

• Lead and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of excellence.

• Support audits (GMP+ & RSPO), manage KPIs for partners, and own operational costs and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree level

• 3+ years' experience in operations and logistics within commodity trading

• Proven expertise in tank storage, stock control, customs compliance, and imports

• Strong knowledge of Mexican customs regulations and import/export procedures

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP a plus) and Microsoft Office

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills

• Data-driven, proactive, and results-oriented

• Strong leadership and team management abilities

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Fluent in Spanish, both written and spoken

• Customer-focused with the ability to influence positive outcomes

• Methodical, adaptable, and able to deliver results under tight deadlines

• Strong planning and organizational skills
