Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Content & Data Migration Specialist to join our Global Marketing IT team. In this role, you'll be responsible for migrating Product content from various sources into our PIM tool (InRiver) as part of our global digital transformation initiatives. You will have previous experience with content & data migrations. In this role you will collaborate with multiple teams, stakeholders, and business units to ensure a smooth, accurate, and timely migration while maintaining high data integrity.
A key focus will be on reducing manual effort by leveraging automation and GenAI tools to optimize workflows. The ideal candidate will adopt an automation-first mindset, using GenAI and other tools to boost efficiency, minimize manual tasks, accelerate the migration process, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality results. You'll work with cross-functional teams to ensure the migrated content is accurate, optimized for the new platform, and aligns with business requirements.
What will you do?
1. Sitecore Content Migration:
a. Lead and manage the migration of content, resources, metadata etc. from multiple data sources into JCI PIM solution, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with business requirements.
b. Execute the end-to-end migration process, including content extraction, transformation and loading while maintaining data quality and integrity throughout.
c. Work with content owners, business analysts, and development teams to understand legacy data structures and translate them into PIM-compatible formats.
d. Develop and document migration workflows and strategies to ensure smooth and efficient content transfers.
2. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
a. Partner with global marketing teams, content owners, product owners, IT teams, and development teams to define content migration requirements and processes.
b. Serve as a key point of contact for migration-related queries, providing regular updates to stakeholders and addressing any concerns during the process.
c. Collaborate with Scrum teams, business analysts, and developers to ensure seamless integration of migrated content into PIM solution.
3. Content Data Analysis & Optimization:
a. Conduct thorough data analysis alongside senior data analyst to assess legacy content for quality, structure, and relevance before migration, ensuring that it meets the standards required by PIM solution.
b. Develop and execute content mapping strategies to ensure content from legacy systems is appropriately structured and categorized in PIM solution.
c. Work with quality assurance (QA) team to ensure that checks are made after migration to ensure content is ready to transfer to downstream systems.
4. Automation & Tool Development:
a. Leverage existing automation tools, scripts, and migration utilities to streamline and expedite content migration processes.
b. Develop and maintain migration templates, tools, and scripts to automate routine tasks and ensure consistency in large-scale content transfers.
c. Monitor the migration process for performance and efficiency, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimizing workflows.
5. Content Governance & Best Practices:
a. Ensure content governance best practices are followed during migration.
b. Advocate for PIM's best practices in content management and assist teams in adhering to the guidelines for content creation and delivery.
6. Training & Documentation:
a. Provide training and guidance to other team members involved in the migration process, ensuring consistent application of Sitecore content migration practices.
b. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on migration processes, tools, and workflows for internal reference and future migrations.
7. Ongoing Support & Continuous Improvement:
a. Provide post-migration support to resolve any issues with content.
b. Stay up-to-date with the latest tool releases and content management technologies to ensure the migration process stays current and aligned with best practices.
c. Continuously identify and implement improvements to the content migration process to drive efficiency and reduce risk.
What are we looking for?
1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field.
2. 4+ years of experience in content or data migration, with a focus on digital/website/ecommerce platforms within large, global organization.
3. Proven experience working within teams, specifically on content management and digital data projects.
4. Strong expertise in agile methodologies, with hands-on experience working in Scrum teams and with Agile project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, JIRA, Confluence).
5. Extensive experience gathering and documenting business requirements for complex projects, including content management systems (CMS), e-commerce platforms, and marketing automation tools.
6. Cross-functional collaboration experience, working with stakeholders from marketing teams, IT departments, scrum teams, and development teams.
7. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
8. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize business needs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
9. Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or Agile/Scrum (e.g., CSM, CSPO) is a plus.
10. Multilingual proficiency and experience working with teams across different regions and time zones is a bonus.
