Bid Desk Analyst

Description -

North America Bid Desk Analyst

· Provides complex and occasionally highly complex financial analysis, typically exercising a strong understanding of the business to determine the best method for achieving objectives.

· Consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope.

· Leads business initiatives, typically leading analysts across multiple sub-functions.

· Identifies opportunities for process improvement and policy development and engages in the design.

· Represents the business unit during cross-regional or cross functional planning processes.

· Provides mentoring and guidance to analysts.

· Ability to influence multiple organizations within a broad scope.

As part of the NA Bid Desk, you will provide special pricing, proposal leadership and support to sales and category teams.  You will be an integral member of the sales team to enable them to win deals and at the same time meet the company's profitability targets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategize and coach sales on pricing methodologies.
  • Engage in cross category discussions to optimize the overall HP solution.
  • Engage appropriate resources (e.g. contracts and segment finance) to position pricing/contract terms necessary to win business.
  • To provide pricing for requests, proposals, contracts, and strategic business opportunities.
  • Understand HP Channel programs.
  • Verify compliance requirement are met on the special pricing process.

Education and Experience Required:

· First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.

· Typically, 6+ years of experience as a business or financial analyst.

· Typically experienced in more than one business function.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

· Strong business acumen.

· Excellent analytical skills.

· Excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel).

· Excellent communication and influencing skills.

· Superior teamwork skills
