Role Purpose
Lead strategies and execution for private market access within the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on HMOs, private insurers, and other private payers. Ensure optimal access for the company's portfolio through innovative contracting, pricing, and reimbursement solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement private access strategies aligned with overall market access objectives.
- Identify opportunities to expand coverage and improve affordability for patients in private channels.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with HMOs, private insurers, and key decision-makers.
- Negotiate agreements and value-based contracts with private payers.
- Policy & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards in all private access activities.
- Monitor changes in private healthcare regulations and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with commercial, medical, and pricing teams to align private access initiatives.
- Provide insights to inform brand strategies and forecasting.
- Data & Analytics
- Analyze market trends, payer behaviors, and competitive landscape.
- Track performance metrics for private access programs and report outcomes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Pharmacy, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 8+ years in pharmaceutical market access, with at least 3 years focused on private payers.
- Proven track record in negotiating with HMOs and private insurers.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and relationship management.
- Deep understanding of private healthcare systems and reimbursement models.
- Analytical and strategic thinking.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
