Risk Analyst

1. Position Overview

The Risk Analyst (Chinese) is responsible for conducting high-quality research and analysis in Chinese and English, supporting investigative, compliance, and intelligence assignments for global clients. This role focuses on gathering, validating, and interpreting information from open-source platforms, proprietary databases, subscription tools, and local field intelligence. The position reports directly to an Operations Project Manager within the Field Research & Investigations Group (FIG).

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical capabilities, advanced language proficiency, and an interest in due diligence, compliance, investigations, and risk assessment.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research using open-source intelligence (OSINT), proprietary databases, subscription platforms, and public records in Chinese and English to support investigative and intelligence cases.
• Perform in-depth analysis related to regulatory compliance, investigative findings, risk assessments, and case-specific analytical needs.
• Compile, fact-check, edit, and format detailed investigative reports following established templates and procedural guidelines.
• Support supervisors with final review, quality checks, and report submissions for due diligence and intelligence assignments.
• Mentor junior and peer Analysts and Editors by reviewing their research, writing, and analysis; provide constructive feedback to improve report accuracy and quality.
• Conduct independent research and deliver complete, high-quality reports for assigned entities or individuals.
• Ensure all reports comply with internal quality standards, style guidelines, and accuracy requirements.
• Provide quality assurance support by identifying inconsistencies, recommending improvements, and helping maintain high standards across the research and editing team.

3. Required QualificationsEducation

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent international degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Journalism, Law, Political Science, or similar).

Experience

• 0–3 years of experience in research, compliance, journalism, investigations, due diligence, legal services, or related fields.

Languages (Mandatory)

• Chinese: Native or Advanced Proficiency (required)
• English: Advanced/Fluent (required)

Technical & Functional Skills

• Strong research skills across OSINT tools, online databases, and subscription platforms.
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data and translate findings into clear written reports.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking.
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English and Chinese.
• Ability to follow structured templates, guidelines, and case methodologies.
• Experience or familiarity with ABAC, KYC, AML, EDD, or regulatory compliance research (preferred).
• High level of discretion when handling sensitive information.

5. Internal & External Relationships

• Reports to: Operations Project Manager – FIG
• Collaborates with: Analysts, Editors, Quality Assurance staff, and other members of the Field Research & Investigations Group.
• May interact with external research partners or specialized data providers as required.

6. Location & Work Modality

• Remote position – must reside in Mexico.
• Availability to work with international teams and adapt to cross-time-zone communication when needed.
