In-House Legal Counsel

World Renowned Cellular Performance Institute Looking For In-house legal counsel.

The Cellular Performance Institute, located in Playas de Tijuana, is looking for an in-house legal counsel to navigate the complex regulatory and commercial landscape of the Mexican healthcare sector. You will be the primary legal architect for our clinical and commercial operations. You will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of high-stakes medical contracts, ensure strict compliance with COFEPRIS and other regulatory bodies, and facilitate the international movement of medical technology. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance legal rigor with the fast-paced needs of a medical research and care facility.

We are considered by many to be the world's premiere facility for stem cell treatments and manufacturing. Our weekly stream of clientele include professional athletes from the UFC, NFL, MLB and more.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the creation and negotiation of complex agreements, including Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Clinical Research Organization (CRO) contracts, and complex procurement deals.
• Manage cross-border agreements and partnership protocols with international medical institutions.
• Oversee all non-disclosure and confidentiality frameworks to protect sensitive patient data and proprietary research.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on the Ley General de Salud and its regulations.
• Act as the primary liaison with COFEPRIS, the Ministry of Health, and other governmental entities.
• Ensure all legal frameworks support high-quality clinical standards and patient safety protocols.
• Navigate the legal requirements for the international transit of advanced medical equipment and pharmaceutical supplies.
• Protect TAM Center's innovations by managing patent filings, trademarks, and technology transfer agreements.
• Oversee the integration and maintenance of local permits, land use, and municipal operating licenses for medical facilities.

Requirements:

• Law Degree (Licenciatura en Derecho) with a valid professional license (cédula profesional). A Master's degree in Health Law, Corporate Law is highly preferred.
• 6–10 years of legal experience, with at least 4 years focused on the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry in Mexico.
• Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English.

Technical Competencies:

• Deep understanding of Mexican Health Law and regulatory compliance.
• Proven track record in negotiating with CROs and managing clinical trial legalities.
• Experience in Administrative Law regarding municipal licensing and government inspections.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:30pm

Salary:

• $51,241.20 MXN gross monthly.
