The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, controlling, and reporting manufacturing costs to ensure accuracy, support decision-making, and contribute to operational efficiency and profitability.

Objective of the Role

To ensure accurate manufacturing cost information, improve visibility of variances, and support the financial and operational performance of the plant.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Analyze standard vs. actual costs and report variances.
  • Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing data in the ERP system.
  • Perform inventory reconciliations for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Support month-end close by preparing cost reports and financial analyses.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes (costs, variances, inventory).
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and warehouse teams to identify cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, controls, and audit requirements.

What would you bring?

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience:
2–4 years in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Standard cost accounting, cost variance analysis
  • Inventory control and reconciliation
  • ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Advanced Excel
  • Understanding of NIF/GAAP

Soft Skills:
Analytical mindset, attention to detail, communication skills, teamwork, and proactivity.

Work Conditions

  • On-site role with daily interaction across production, warehouse, and finance.
  • Location: Azcaportzalco.
