Business Intelligence Specialist

The Business Intelligence Professional is responsible for working with various internal departments to run analyses on the company, and make any recommendations to upper management.General Responsibilities

• Collaborates with complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers

• Key participant in helping identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences

• Key participant in constructing forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge

• Organizes specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements

• May provide consultation to users and lead cross-functional teams to address business issues

• May directly produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools

• May be internal operations-focused or external client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions
Experience / Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Communication - Ability to communicate effectively by getting the right message across to the right people at the right time on a regular basis

• Planning and Organizing - Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work and schedules in all areas to meet requirements

• Problem solving - Ability to reach logical conclusions to situations by appropriately analyzing the situation. Balances the benefits, risks and consequences of actions

• Time Management - Ability to assessing your ability to manage your time, and the effectiveness of your team to reach department objectives

• Conflict management - Ability to recognize and work towards a mutually agreeable solution when confronted with conflict

• Resilience - Ability to work under pressure and prioritize

• 3+ years of experience in business analytics, reporting, or business intelligence.
• Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and strong visualization skills.
• Experience working with database and data management tools (e.g., MS Access, SQL-based systems).
• Hands-on experience with workflow automation platforms (e.g., Power Automate) to streamline data processes and reporting.
• Experience working with relational data sources; familiarity with SQL, Power Query, DAX, or similar preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in English (written and verbal) required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow structured workflows, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborative, customer-focused attitude and eagerness to learn from senior team members.
• Commitment to accuracy and confidentiality when working with sensitive data.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to summarize findings clearly for non-technical users.
• Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
