Azure Virtual Desktop EngineerJob Description

We are looking for an Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer responsible for defining, designing, and delivering Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) infrastructure architectures. The role focuses on implementing scalable, secure, and high-availability AVD environments, supporting production systems, and collaborating with internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD / WVD) architectures.
  • Install, configure, and manage Microsoft AVD technologies including host pools, AVD images, and scaling.
  • Manage and support high-availability AVD clusters.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance and recommend improvement actions.
  • Organize, manage, and optimize business applications running on Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Administer FSLogix and MSIX App Attach, including application setup and updates.
  • Design and manage user identities and profiles for AVD environments.
  • Implement and manage networking and storage for AVD (DNS, firewall/proxy, micro-segmentation, storage virtualization).
  • Create and manage pooled and personal VDI host pools.
  • Perform image creation, customization, and upgrade activities following best practices.
  • Provide L2/L3 operational support for End User Computing environments.
  • Design, develop, and debug scalable End User Computing solutions.
  • Create new host pools and add VMs to existing host pools.
  • Manage VM rollout requirements including access groups and dependencies.
  • Update and manage Bicep templates, supporting changes from testing to production.
  • Manage host pool VMs lifecycle, including patching and feature updates for pooled and persistent environments.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients and collaborate with global teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with Azure Virtual Desktop or Cloud VDI solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop / WVD, FSLogix, and MSIX App Attach.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experience with image creation, customization, and upgrade processes.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, firewall/proxy, micro-segmentation).
  • Experience with storage virtualization.
  • Experience providing L2/L3 support in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience using Bicep for infrastructure updates and host pool management.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Experience working with global or distributed teams.
  • Experience interacting directly with clients or stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50, $90,000.00 per month
