Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Middle/Senior Data Platform Engineer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina, Colombia and Chile. Our client is an online personal styling service that leverages advanced AI, machine learning, and expert stylists to deliver personalized clothing recommendations. As a data-driven retail platform, it combines technology and human insight to transform how people discover and shop for clothing.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to build significant additions to the platform ecosystem, contributing to an infrastructure that centralizes ETL and streaming capabilities, enables experimentation and data development, and powers algorithm development. You will design and build scalable engineering solutions to solve business and data problems.

Tech Stack:

• S3 using Parquet and Iceberg for data storage;
• Hive and Iceberg REST catalog as the metadata store;
• Spark (Python, SQL, Scala) for data transformation;
• Go, Scala, and Java for backend development;
• Kafka for data streaming;
• Kubernetes and Helm for service deployments;
• AWS IAM for access control;
• Datadog for logging, alerting, and monitoring;
• Trino is the federated query engine.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years of work experience in platform engineering, with expertise in experimentation platforms.
• Experience coding at a production level with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
• Understanding of building and supporting RBAC systems used by enterprise-wide teams.
• Understanding supporting Iceberg-based data warehouses.
• A degree in an engineering or computer science field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify, develop, and evangelize tooling, approaches, and data products that raise the bar of validity in experiment design and analyses across the company.
• Collaborate with multiple teams and functions to deliver deep-dive analyses and experiment design for new initiatives and high-priority business areas.
• Develop and iterate on the processes to empower more efficient and rigorous experimentation.
