Position Overview

The L2 Application Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining the stability, availability, and performance of BNE and BDF platforms under a 7x18 on-call support model. This role focuses on diagnosing and resolving application incidents, supporting microservices-based architectures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and efficient system operations.

Executive Summary

This role is focused on L2 application support, ensuring the continuous operation and stability of BNE and BDF platforms. It combines application support expertise with foundational knowledge of development, infrastructure, and observability tools to enable timely incident resolution and effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 application support for incidents and service requests related to BNE and BDF applications.
  • Analyze and interpret application logs to diagnose issues and identify root causes.
  • Support microservices developed primarily in Java and JavaScript.
  • Interact with databases for basic data analysis and validation.
  • Utilize observability and performance monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, StartFleet, Akamai, and Pitstop.
  • Track incidents, document findings, and maintain follow-up in Jira and Confluence.
  • Participate in a 7x18 on-call rotation (6:00–15:00 and/or 16:00–01:00 shifts).
  • Ensure operational stability, service quality, and adherence to response and resolution SLAs.

Must Have Qualifications

  • Experience providing L2 application support.
  • 1–3+ years of experience working with Java and JavaScript.
  • Experience supporting microservices architectures (preferably Java-based).
  • Strong ability to read and analyze application logs.
  • Basic knowledge of enterprise infrastructure.
  • Networking fundamentals: HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP, TLS/SSL.
  • Ability to understand and interpret architecture diagrams.
  • Experience using Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence).
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Experience with tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, StartFleet, Akamai, or Pitstop.
  • Knowledge of BNE and BDF business flows.
  • Familiarity with the EDIFY framework.
  • Previous experience working in on-call or shift-based support models.
  • Experience in financial or banking environments.
  • Basic knowledge of project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.).
