Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Summary

If you are a supplier quality engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you  Based in Guadalajara, MX, through collaborative relationships with the supplier & Emerson team you will ensure Emerson requirements are understood and are successfully met in the suppliers current process.

In this role, your responsibilities will be:

  • Responsible for ensuring supplier quality performance and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain. 
  • Leads engineering initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and maintain compliance with industry standards. 
  • Develops and implements quality systems, conducts supplier audits, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues. 
  • Supports new product introduction and process validation while maintaining robust documentation and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Influences supplier selection and qualification for critical components.
  • Oversees manufacturing process improvements impacting cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Works with suppliers and internal teams to achieve strategic objectives and ensure operational excellence.

Who you are:

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

  • Provides technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and quality specialists. May lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate supplier improvement initiatives.
  • Interfaces with suppliers, internal engineering, operations, and executive leadership. Maintains strong external partnerships to ensure compliance and performance.

For this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred. 
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in supplier quality and manufacturing engineering roles.
  • Expertise in quality management systems, root cause analysis, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies. 

Preferred qualifications that set you a part:

Role requires occasional travel to supplier sites and manufacturing facilities. Must demonstrate adaptability and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
