A leading U.S.-based manufacturer of custom seating and general furniture solutions for commercial and office environments is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Production Managerto join its growing team inTijuana. Travel Required: 30%

Position Summary:

This role's primary mission is to plan, coordinate and control within the production area all required activities to ensure company's product is manufactured and delivered on time according to customer requirements, and main KPI's are met.

  • Provide leadership and direction to production staff to ensure that area's KPIs are met.
  • Direct responsible to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Responsible to coordinate and control all activities to maintain or improve quality level of the product and scrap control.
  • Responsible to achieve on daily basis production plan and shipment plan.
  • Responsible to control production efficiency, maintaining approved headcount and efficiently usage of production resources.
  • Lead the efforts for continuous improvement activities to improve KPI's, production processes and work environment.
  • Responsible to select and hire of staff on approved budget, also is responsible to develop and cross train production staff.
  • Responsible to maintain a respectful relationship with subordinates and co-workers.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Accomplish of daily production plan and shipment, ensuring KPI's for safety, quality, efficiency and people.
  • Promote and conduct continuous improvement activities among the production floor.
  • Create a strong team work among production staff by reinforcing the cross-training plan and motivation.

Qualifications, Skills and Education:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in manufacturing environment in leading roles and staff supervision.
  • Strong background in Production, Production Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Strong bilingual communication skills (oral, written and translation).
  • Analytical/ data driven, ability to demonstrate tangible results
  • Solid knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Solidproject management skills, able to meet task deadlines, hands on mind and capable to work under pressure.
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Production Management or related discipline is desired.
  • MS Office proficient (Strong knowledge in Excel is desired).
  • Interpersonal and social skills with the ability to connect with people at all levels in a respectful and professional way.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the furniture industry.
  • Knowledge in the sewing, wood assembly, upholstery areas.
  • Experience in wood routing machines.
  • Solid knowledge in MRP software application (AX, SAP or similar).
  • Experience in product transfer and operation growth.
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering,
  • Production Management or related discipline is desired.

Working conditions:

Occasional evening and weekend work to coupe whit special requirements of the production

plan, customer requirements and/or pick season.
