Ciudad de México, Ciudad de México Guidepost Solutions A tiempo completo

Summary

Guidepost Solutions is seeking an Associate Director to join our Mexico City–based investigations and compliance team. This role is designed for a highly capable professional who excels at managing complex investigative and risk advisory engagements and is ready to take the next step toward broader client leadership and commercial responsibility.

The Associate Director will serve as a day-to-day leader on matters, acting as the primary project manager for sophisticated, often cross-border engagements. While case execution is the core focus of the role, the Associate Director will also begin to develop client-facing and business development skills, supporting senior leaders in proposal development, client relationship management, and firm-building initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

Case & Project Leadership (Primary Focus)

Independently manage high-quality investigative and advisory engagements from inception to completion.

  • Serve as day-to-day project lead on investigations and risk advisory matters, including:

  • Due diligence and background investigations
  • Compliance, anti-corruption, and regulatory matters
  • Fraud, asset tracing, and financial investigations
  • Security, integrity, and reputational risk matters

  • Develop investigative methodologies and work plans tailored to client needs and risk profiles.

  • Manage multidisciplinary and, where applicable, cross-border project teams, including internal staff and external resources.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients on day-to-day matters, ensuring clarity, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Oversee analysis, quality control, and drafting of reports and presentations; review junior team members' work for accuracy and clarity.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, with an understanding of commercial considerations.
  • Escalate issues appropriately and work closely with Directors and Senior Directors on complex or sensitive matters.

Client Interaction & Emerging Business Development

While not a primary revenue-generating role, this role is expected to develop foundational business development skills.

  • Support Directors and Senior Directors in drafting proposals, scopes of work, and budgets.
  • Participate in client meetings, pitches, and follow-on discussions to gain exposure to business development processes.
  • Help identify incremental or follow-on opportunities within existing client engagements.
  • Contribute to relationship-building with clients, intermediaries, and referral sources.
  • Assist with the preparation of marketing materials, client briefings, and localized content.

Team Leadership & Firm Contribution

  • Mentor and supervise Analysts, Associates, and Senior Associates, providing guidance on methodology, analysis, and professional development.
  • Contribute to building a collaborative, high-performing team culture in the Mexico City office.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives as needed.
  • Contribute to thought leadership efforts, including research, drafting articles or client alerts, and supporting conference participation.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across Guidepost's U.S. and international offices.

  • Strategic Leadership & Navigation
  • Relationship Management
  • Global & Cultural Awareness

Required Education and Experience

  • Strong experience in investigations, compliance, risk advisory, forensic services, or a related consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects and multiple workstreams.
  • Solid understanding of investigative methodologies, risk analysis, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience working on cross-border matters, particularly involving Mexico, Latin America, or U.S.–Mexico dynamics.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines and priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness, including basic understanding of budgets and project economics.
