As the General Manager of LCA Automation de México, a wholly owned subsidiary of SHL Advantec AG of Switzerland, you will be responsible to serve the local customer base, grow the business in Mexico and represent SHL Advantec AG in your market. A special focus will be on service and support business, including the SHL production plants in the USA. This role requires a dynamic leader who can motivate and coach his team, maintain and acquire customer contacts, oversee all company processes, the financial performance and reporting, while ensuring top-tier product quality and compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with a team of skilled professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence. The General Manager will play a pivotal role in working with the Managing Director of SHL Advantec AG to steer the company towards operational efficiency, and long-term profitability.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the Mexican entity in close collaboration with global matrix leadership to ensure efficient, effective, and compliant operations. Represent STI/ LCA/ SMC/ Advantec Technology/ Advantec Precision (Entity) internally and towards our customers.
- A strong focus must be the development and growth of local business, such as the existing contracts with automotive industry suppliers and OEMs.
- Set and monitor budgets, manage and continuously improve cost, profitability and efficiency through setting KPI's, performance monitoring and corrective action plans.
- Act as a liaison between the local site and global leadership to ensure alignment with the company's global strategy and the implementation (where necessary) of global initiatives, best practices, standards and systems on a local level.
- Participate and contribute actively to the global Advantec Management Team (AMT).
- Build, retain, and develop a high-performing team by driving employee engagement, capability development, and succession planning.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers.
- Innovation and process improvements: Drive innovation and continuous improvement in production, products, services and processes.
- Ensure compliance with laws, industry regulations (including GMP), quality standards, safety protocols and ESG topics within the Entity at all times.
- Track and communicate project and cross-departmental risks and challenges with both global and local leadership teams and customers to ensure internal awareness and alignment.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10+ years of experience within the manufacturing industry.
- 3+ years of experience in leadership positions within a manufacturing company.
- Relevant technical education (degree, diploma, apprenticeship).
- Administrative skills to monitor and report the local performance and keep the company in good order, in compliance with Mexican rules and laws.
- Strong understanding of production and quality control processes, as well as regulatory and safety standards in manufacturing, budget planning and financial reporting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage customer and supplier relationships and represent the company effectively.
- Authentic people's manager with shop floor experience to occasionally assist the team in the field
- Experience with technology and innovation in manufacturing, such as automation, IoT, or advanced materials.
- Active and growing network in the manufacturing industry, with established connections to suppliers, clients, and industry groups.
