The Opportunity

The Automation Technician supports fully automated production lines within a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting automation equipment, ensuring operational continuity, quality compliance, and safe operation. The position requires strong technical expertise in PLCs, instrumentation, and electrical/mechanical interpretation, along with the ability to respond quickly to production issues on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for
    100% automated production lines
    , ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Diagnose and resolve automation, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues in real time.
  • Support and execute basic
    PLC programming, adjustments, and troubleshooting
    .
  • Interpret and work from
    electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical drawings
    .
  • Operate and utilize
    measurement and diagnostic instruments
    such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure gauges, and electrical/pneumatic indicators.
  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities for automation equipment.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to automation efficiency, reliability, and safety.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to ensure smooth operation of automated systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+
    Technical degree or
    incomplete/completed Engineering
    in Mechatronics, Automation, Electronics, Robotics, or related field.
  • Proven experience working with
    automation equipment in fully automated production lines
    .
  • Knowledge of
    PLC systems
    and basic programming principles.
  • Experience with industrial measurement instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope, pressure gauges, electrical and pneumatic indicators).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC, robot, or
    SCADA programming
    is desirable.
  • Experience with
    vision systems (Cognex / Keyence)
    is a strong plus.
  • Intermediate English
    proficiency
