At BAX, we are a crypto-native company building blockchain-based financial infrastructure for Mexico and Latin America. We develop a SaaS platform powering products such as stablecoins, crypto brokerage, wallets, and financial tools for businesses.

We're looking for a Backend Engineer (or full-stack engineer with a strong backend focus) experienced in and TypeScript, interested in building secure, scalable systems that sit at the core of real-world crypto products.

In this role, you'll work on highly scalable APIs and backend services using serverless architectures and modern cloud technologies such as AWS (Lambda, RDS), Cloudflare, and related services.

What You'll Work On

  • Building APIs and backend services using the Serverless Framework
  • Developing scalable systems in TypeScript with
  • Designing and implementing SQL databases (PostgreSQL)
  • Integrating with external providers and third-party APIs
  • Backend services supporting financial and crypto-related flows
  • Systems with a strong focus on security, performance, and reliability

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of professional experience developing Web APIs
  • 2+ years of experience with TypeScript or statically typed languages (Java, C++, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of software design patterns and best practices
  • Experience with common web development tools (Git, npm, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience working with AWS (web console and CLI)
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Genuine interest in Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, and modern financial systems

Nice to Have (Crypto)

If you're crypto-native, it's a big plus. We're especially interested in candidates with:

  • Understanding of blockchain fundamentals or experience working on crypto products
  • Experience integrating wallets, transaction signing, or on-chain flows
  • Knowledge of stablecoins, token standards (ERC-20, etc.), and gas mechanics
  • Interest in DeFi, remittances, cross-border payments, or financial inclusion
  • Personal (even non-professional) experience using or exploring crypto products
