**JOB SUMMARY**

**You will be responsible for**:
Under limited supervision and in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws/regulations and Johnson & Johnson Corporate procedures and guidelines, this position will:

- Analyze complex testing to support product release and environmental testing.
- Work closely with Research and Development (R&D) to support development, troubleshooting, validation and transfer of test methods to a commercial Quality Control or Quality Assurance laboratory.
- Prepare instrumental qualification, method validation and transfer protocols, preparation and submission of reports for review and approval.
- Initiate and investigate non-compliant laboratory test results, as well as report potential stability alerts that could escalate to the next level and quality issues to management.
- Utilize your knowledge of scientific techniques to independently problem solve complex quality product issues with a sense of urgency.
- Develop, write, update and evaluate test methods, procedures, protocols and specifications as required.
- Support the Instrumental Management Life Cycle Process.
- Support the Software Management Lifecycle Process.
- Provide training to others in test methods, protocols, specifications, laboratory core competencies and procedures
- (SOP's)
- Provide audit support.
- Work with cross-functional teams to successfully resolve audit findings, product non-conformances, customer complaints to execute Corrective/Preventive Actions and/or refine product design.
- Independently lead large projects, as well as facilitate projects according to priorities and provide periodic updates to management.
- Provide innovative approaches to technical problem solving and troubleshooting with limited guidance from management or other scientific personnel while maintaining a high level of knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Keep abreast of the most relevant company product and manufacturing processes related to laboratory testing.
- Work independently on complex issues and develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity to draw valid conclusions.
- Act in a leadership role (team leader on cross-departmental teams).
- Initial and final evaluation of data generated by peers and contractor laboratories.
- Assist in other tasks that contribute to the organization and operation of the laboratory (e.g., laboratory inventory process).
- Ensures compliance with local, State, Federal and company regulations, policies and procedures to act in compliance with the Safety, Health and Environmental department.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to the next level of management.
- Responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources necessary to do so are available and in good condition.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned as required.

- Bachelor of Science degree is required. Master of Science or Ph.D. degree preferred.
- 6 to 8 years of experience with Bachelor of Science degree and progressively advanced work at the Senior Scientist level.
- 5 to 7 years of experience with Master of Science degree and progressively advanced work at the Senior Scientist level.
- 2 to 5 years of experience with Ph.D. and progressively performing advanced tasks at Senior Scientist level.
