Field Application Engineer

Key Responsibilities

ALIARO Applications Engineers spend most of their time:

- Consulting with engineers as they collect, interpret, and refine the customer’s technical requirements
- Supporting customers during specification and design of their hardware and software architectures
- Partnering with Sales on account strategies and planning to drive revenue growth
- Identifying and mitigating high-risk items throughout the customer engagement process
- Providing customer feedback to influencers throughout the company
- Visiting Customers to provide on-site support based on the SLA or Sales opportunity
- Design, Validation, and Test Applications in ADAS/Autonomous Driving
- Test and validation of ADAS sensors including Radar, LiDAR, and camera components
- Record and playback of sensor data for validation and HIL test of autonomous vehicle perception systems
- Real-time simulation of environment and vehicle dynamics
- Design, Validation, and Test Applications in Electrical Powertrain Systems
- Energy storage: battery cell, pack, and module testing; battery management systems
- Power conversion: signal-level and power-level traction inverter test and validation

Key Performance Objectives
- **Collaborates with account managers and customers **through the iterative process of requirements gathering and system design to ensure the ALIARO platform is properly utilized and customer systems are enabled for success.
- **Applies engineering best practices **to assist in the design of the hardware and software architectures needed to satisfy customer requirements in a modular and scalable way.
- **Establishes strong collaborative relationships** with the technical support and services organization to ensure ALIARO and its partners can deliver on promised value. Furthermore, establishes strong collaborative relationships with NI, the Customer and ALIARO’s partners to channel feedback and improvements back into the company.
- **Learns account strategies and portfolio of NI & ALIARO’s offerings to achieve mutual account and ALIARO success **by collaborating with account teams to gain further insight on accounts plans and dynamics as well as by becoming knowledgeable of NI & ALIARO product, support, and service offerings to address challenges.
- **Establishes strong ownership and accountability of customer success **by playing a unifying role across local and remote support teams and with Sales. Applications engineers anticipate challenges, prioritize their activities, and drive challenges to resolution.

Qualifications and Skills Basic Qualifications
- Experience programming in a high-level programming language (e.g. LabVIEW, C/C++, Python, etc.)
- Availability to travel up to 30% of time throughout the Americas region

Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3+ years of experience in customer-facing roles
- Experience with sensors & signals, electronics, circuit design, and computer hardware
- Software engineering skills
- Proficiency in any of the following development and software tools: LabVIEW, VeriStand, TestStand, Python, C/C++/C#, MATLAB Simulink, monoDrive, IPG Carmaker, AImotive aiSim, Vector CAN tools, Linux
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excels in a team-oriented and collaborative work environment
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, managing multiple simultaneous projects while meeting deadlines
- Verbal and written communication skills to effectively influence the actions of internal stakeholders and manage relationships with external customers
