**Job Title**:Process Engineer Jr.

**Report to**:Engineering Manager

**Supervise to: Lab Technicians (Sand and Metallurgical)**

**General Summary**:

- Manages and supervises the Sand Laboratory and provides support to the Metallurgical Laboratory, where the activities established according to the Control Plan will be carried out. Including surveillance and control of the Sand System and metallurgical support with Itaca, for the manufacture of Gray and Nodular Iron castings.
- Generates and establishes the Process procedures of the Sand and Metallurgical Laboratories.
- Follows up on the calibration of its equipment in the Sand and Metallurgical Laboratories.
- Staff training and other areas that require it.
- Participate in actions to achieve Internal scrap: 7% Max.
- Participate in actions to achieve External scrap: 2% Max.
- Participate in actions to achieve productivity: 85% OEE.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Participates in defining and supervising the control ranges of the Sands process.
- Participates in the Metallurgical process strengthening through defining and supervising the control ranges with ITACA.
- Analyzes microstructures and mechanical properties resulting, to solve problems and improve our materials.
- Available to work with other plant processes as required, to help with problem solving or special improvement projects.
- Keeps records of the process to comply with the ISO-9001_2015 Standard and participate with the APQP multidisciplinary team.
- Manage the information documented in the material certificates for the client and approves documentation when required.
- Assists in the product defects investigation and proposes modifications to the process and/or quality standards as required.
- Establishes and maintains a good working relationship with customers, suppliers, and plant personnel.
- Keeps the documentation related to the Quality Management System in MOS and SGA updated.
- Provides information for the calibration measurement devices of both Laboratories (Sand and Metallurgical).
- Periodically reviews the Labs (Sands and Metallurgical) procedures.
- Supervises the sample preparation for microanalyst, implements the necessary changes when required and maintains records of all samples taken.
- Works with other departments to improve quality, reduce costs, and help develop new markets.
- Compliance with the personal training plan and its collaborators and deliver evidence (attendance lists) to the Human Resources area.

**Job Profile**
- Metallurgical or Materials Engineer with experience in Gray or Nodular Iron casting for at least 2 years.
- Experience between 1-2 years in Sand and/or Metallurgical Laboratories. Knowledge and management of Laboratory equipment (Sands and Metallurgical).
- Planning and Organization.
- Management of Core Tools
- Knowledge of the ISO9001:2015 and/or IATF16949:2016 standard.
- Project management.
- Basic interpretation of Plans.
- Knowledge of corrective actions 8Ds and/or 5 Why's.
