Experienced and proactive Cross-Border & Domestic Transportation Specialist to lead and optimize transportation operations at our high-volume fulfillment warehouse in Tijuana, MX.
Will be responsible for ensuring seamless, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods across the U.S.Mexico border and throughout Mexico, supporting B2C fulfillment, B2B distribution, and 3PL shipping operations.
This role requires hands-on logistics leadership, deep knowledge of cross-border compliance, and the ability to build scalable transportation strategies that align with fast-changing operational and customer demands.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Cross-Border Strategy & Execution**
- Own and optimize cross-border transportation between Mexico and the U.S., ensuring full compliance with cross border shipping, IMMEX, and other customs programs.
- Manage relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers, ensuring accurate dock movements and timely documentation and clearance.
- Resolve clearance issues swiftly and proactively minimize border-related delays.
- Stay abreast of changing trade regulations, tariff codes, and customs laws impacting global B2C deployments and B2B flows.
**Domestic & Regional Transportation**
- Oversee all domestic transportation activities across Mexico, including inbound/outbound shipments to/from 3PLs, customers, and national distribution centers.
- Manage relationships with regional trucking partners, parcel carriers, and last-mile providers.
- Ensure on-time delivery (OTD), optimized routing, and truck/container utilization.
- Monitor carrier SLAs, enforce routing guide adherence, and escalate performance issues.
**Logistics Optimization & Collaboration**
- Partner with warehouse operations, inventory, and customer service teams to ensure transportation supports fulfillment SLAs.
- Leverage WMS data to identify trends, reduce costs, and eliminate process waste.
- Drive continuous improvement in freight consolidation, appointment scheduling, and inventory transfer flows.
- Maintain meticulous records of shipments, invoices, freight claims, and customs documentation.
**Compliance & Risk Management**
- Ensure full compliance with Mexican and U.S. transportation regulations and trade programs.
- Act as internal SME for routing guide execution for U.S. retailers.
- Proactively manage risks related to freight damage, customs violations, and carrier liabilities.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain, preferably in a high-volume 3PL or global fulfillment environment.
- Proven expertise in cross-border trade, customs compliance, and U.S.Mexico import/export programs (IMMEX, 321, Maquiladora).
- Strong knowledge of B2B shipping to U.S. retailers, including routing guide management and retail compliance.
- Track record of carrier selection, negotiation, and performance management.
- Proficiency in WMS, ERP systems, and strong Excel/data analysis skills.
- Fluent in Spanish and English (required).
- Highly analytical, data-driven, and able to work under pressure with competing priorities.
**Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (Good to have).
- Experience with parcel and LTL optimization tools. (Must, required)
- Exposure to global shipping, including ocean/air consolidation. (Must, required)
- Experience supporting direct-to-consumer (DTC) eCommerce fulfillment. (Must, required)
