**Descripción y Requisitos**
- We are hiring a Supplier Development Engineer to join out team at Juarez City location.This role will be responsible for strategic supply base development to improve Tenneco's supply base, including on-site supplier contact. Drives quality and productivity improvements at existing suppliers. Assesses new potential suppliers, works with new technology and new product launches, and deploys standardized supplier quality management systems. Work with global commodity; engineering; customer teams; quality and operations at Tenneco plants.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Support teams to identify new suppliers in alignment with Tenneco requirements.
- Actively participates in sourcing decision-making reviews with Sourcing Teams.
- Implements the Global Purchasing supplier development strategies, support the team in establishing policies / procedures and initiatives to help improve the global supply base.
- Supports cross-functional launch teams by design/risk evaluations and technical supplier review meetings to assure form, fit, and function of product/assembly design intent.
- Supports on-site supplier development to help suppliers improve their processes and achieve productivity and quality performance goals.
- Utilizes standard supplier assessment and evaluation tools. Conduct supplier assessments and evaluations. Follow-up on improvements as required.
- Tracks and monitors supplier quality performance.
- Conducts supplier audits when required to improve Tenneco's supply base in order to drive quality and productivity improvements at existing suppliers.
- Supports major internal and new customer projects initiated by Tenneco globally.
- Supports Tenneco plants and businesses on major supplier quality, -delivery and -cost issues.
- Facilitates timely implementation of permanent corrective action and resolution for supplier related issues as assigned
- Follows-up / monitors the APQP timeline and deliverables from kick-off through successful launch containment for assigned suppliers / project.
- Implements the Global Purchasing supplier development strategies.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelors Degree in a related Business or Technical discipline; or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years related work experience in quality, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
- Familiar with a range of materials and processes; e.g. steel, stamping, forging, machining, casting, cold heading, rubber, plastic, heat treating, and electromechanical products.
- Demonstrate maturity to represent Tenneco’s interest versus the supplier’s.
- Understanding of GD&T
- Able to speak and write in English and Spanish
- Willing to travel

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience with supplier assessment and audits, IATF and / or ISO audit certification desired.
- APQP, PFMEA, MSA and Control Plan training and practical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of electro mechanical manufacturing product & processes is a plus.
- Understands the process and tools of effective problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability and skills to support supplier development activities, continuous improvement initiatives and quality management tools.
- Demonstrated self-starter and able to work independently, as needed to execute strategies to meet goals.
- Strong team player with further demonstrated ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written, also in English.
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Familiar with methodologies like 6 sigma, Lean manufacturing. Six Sigma certificate is a plus.
- Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability and skills to support supplier development activities, continuous improvement initiatives and quality management tools.
