Chief Android Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary **Chief Android Developer** to join our team and lead the evolution of cutting-edge TV technology.

This executive-level role presents a unique opportunity to drive strategic innovation, spearhead technology development, and play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of a groundbreaking product. The Chief Android Developer will collaborate with senior leadership, mentor teams, and ensure the delivery of world-class Android-based solutions.

**Responsibilities**
- Define and drive the strategic technical vision for Android development, aligning it with the company’s overall goals and objectives
- Collaborate with EPAM SME, Solution Architect, and other senior stakeholders to identify skillsets needed across teams and ensure resource allocation aligns with organizational priorities
- Oversee the development process for a dual-display TV from inception, integrating TV inputs (tuner and media player) into the Android framework, with a focus on delivering high-quality user experiences
- Build and optimize Android images while managing the full lifecycle of Android development, including bootloaders, with an eye toward scalability and robustness
- Define and execute strategies to profile, analyze, and optimize performance across the software stack, ensuring efficiency and reliability
- Provide thought leadership on emerging trends in Android, Embedded Linux, and connected TV technologies, influencing the product roadmap
- Mentor and guide technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning

**Requirements**:

- 7+ years of experience in Android development, with a track record of delivering innovative, high-impact solutions
- At least 2 years of experience managing and leading technical teams, exhibiting exemplary leadership and organizational skills
- Deep expertise in Android OS, Android TV, and Android NDK & SDK
- Advanced proficiency in Kotlin, with strong coding and problem-solving skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of Embedded Linux and its integration with Android-based systems
- High-level expertise in JNI and IPC mechanisms
- Extensive experience with modern C++/C or Java standards libraries
- Hands-on knowledge of Linux kernel customization and building/customizing drivers (e.g., DTBO, Bluetooth, WiFi)
- Proficiency in using Android or Linux performance tools, with a deep understanding of software and hardware security models
- Professional-level ability to communicate in written and spoken English (C1 level), facilitating effective collaboration with cross-functional and international teams
