**Job Summary**

The Sr. Director, External Manufacturing leads an organization of 15 - 30 resources in support of approximately $800MM+ in spend for Johnson & Johnson Companies. They will manage 30 - 50 global suppliers, including Johnson & Johnson’s most strategic partners. The category and business are extraordinarily sophisticated in nature and require a close collaboration with key partners in the business to execute. The leader in this role will implement the pivotal initiatives for products produced at External Manufacturers. They will plan and direct the organization’s activities and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality and service, reliability, and compliance adherence.

Moreover, this leader will provide Global and Regional Leadership for developing end-to-end supplier strategies, maintaining key relationships within the business, and managing key supplier relationships. The position must shape, connect, and lead resources to deliver on key projects.

**Duties & responsibilities**
- Partner in the development and drive the External Manufacturing vision for, with and through the stakeholder community.
- Own relationships with key suppliers: Monitor performance, develop and lead regular performance reviews (CS&OP, CIP execution, QBR, Planning, Quality reviews, etc.), lead all aspects of product tech transfers and decommissioning of sites, engage suppliers in lean process improvements and manage operations via virtual plant management.
- Assess existing global supplier footprints and product supply opportunity; partner with suppliers to drive network efficiencies in alignment with global EM vision.
- Perform analysis of investments required to support recurring cost reductions and business growth for supplier sites.
- Ensure CIP ideation sessions with key strategic partners are facilitated by team; develop the vision, strategy and implementation plan that will effectively meet the long-range requirements of the business partners and deliver the maximum value for J&J.
- Develop Ops Plans (incl. budgets, volume planning, etc.) with EM sites; ensure alignment on the outcomes with key internal partners.
- Identify potential Quality/Regulatory, Technical and/or Supply Chain challenges and work with key internal stakeholders and EM sites to resolve.
- Develop, implement, and lead proactive change and risk management processes for suppliers.
- Deliver on financial, service, reliability, quality, and growth commitments.
- Own New Product Introduction process with EMs; plan and direct NPIs with key internal stakeholder alignment, lead J&J/EM resource meetings and ensure successful NPI launch.
- Develop team of virtual plant managers elevating business and financial acumen.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years or related experience
- Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices (Spend Management, Sourcing, External Supply Integration and Supplier Management)
- Strong experience in operations and supply chain management
- Proven ability to negotiate with external partners to deliver value for J&J
- Multi-county and Multi sector experiences across geographies of varied sizes and businesses.
- Strong leadership, vison setting, communication, influencing, collaboration and talent development skills.
- Able to prioritize requests and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary.
- Ability to show judgment in developing innovative ways resolving issues.
- 10+ years people management experience.
- Strong project and change management capabilities along with setting strategy and direction.
- Strong eye for business with ability to continuously improve the organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

**Preferred requirements**
- Education - CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, PMP, or other certification or relevant experience.
- Proficiency with core operational skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, production planning, etc.), and credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (
