We are looking for a software development manager with hands-on expertise on automation and experience in leading and managing software engineering teams. This role requires the individual to plan, manage, implement and drive functional testing activities according to provided design specifications. This is a hands-on manager position requires both hands-on tasks as well as overall coordination and supervision of activities in the engineering team.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage senior team members and train junior members
- Work collaboratively with other technical and management on solutions, blockers and other technical challenges, code reviews and provide test code enhancements as needed.
- Take lead on procuring and implementing automated tests and follow through with successful implementations
- Oversee test automation practices, standards and processes, aid in solutions and ideas to technical blockers. Prioritize and provide guidance on feasible solutions.
- Refine existing test framework and tests implementations
Required
- 3+ years of experience in Software Development and management roles
- Experience with building software products using Agile methodologies
- Hands on coding experience in Java, Python, C or any other modern programming language.
- Experience with source version control tools like GIT/SVN/Bit bucket/Jenkins
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux
- Working knowledge of SQL, Databases and their architectures
- Excellent understanding of database architectures and complex system concepts, including single and clustered environments
- Mentoring, coaching and management skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to effectively work in a global team and effectively communicate status to peers and superiors.
- Ability to perform code reviews
- Proven ability of working and leading multiple projects and releases, balancing time and effort for successful delivery.
**Detailed Description and Job Requirements**
Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Typically one year of software engineering or related experience.
