The Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist is responsible for managing invoicing, tracking payments, and performing collections for freight brokerage transactions. This role ensures that customers are billed accurately and payments are received on time, contributing to a strong cash flow position for the brokerage. It requires close coordination with customers, and internal logistics teams to resolve disputes and maintain financial accuracy.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Monitor accounts receivable ledger to identify aging receivables and delinquent accounts.
- Work with logistics teams to resolve disputes related to accessorial charges, rate discrepancies, or service issues.
- Maintain accurate records of communication, promises to pay, and payment plans.
- Produce AR aging reports and collection performance metrics for management.
- Assist with cash forecasting and end-of-month financial closing activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company credit policies.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of AR or collections experience, preferably in freight, transportation, or logistics.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organization and time management.
- Effective communicator with strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a MUST
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment.
