**Role At A Glance**:
We are seeking a **Business Operations Analyst - Payment Economics & Insights** to join our **Payment Business Strategy** organization in Guadalajara or Hermosillo, Mexico.

This mid-level role focuses on driving visibility and insight into the economics of Paystand's payment network. You will own the analytics, dashboards, and forecasting models that measure and improve payment performance, vendor efficiency, and margin outcomes.

You'll use data to help shape how we scale our payments business — leveraging automation and AI-driven analytics to detect anomalies, optimize performance, and uncover opportunities for margin expansion. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about combining data, automation, and applied AI to drive measurable business impact in a fast-growing fintech environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Payment Analytics & Monitoring**:

- Build and maintain dashboards that track key payment KPIs such as margin, success rates, vendor costs, and latency.
- Leverage SQL, BI tools, and AI-assisted analysis to identify anomalies, cost inefficiencies, or vendor underperformance.
- Develop monitoring frameworks and automated alerting systems that provide real-time visibility into payment economics.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering to embed AI-enabled or automated reporting into core business workflows.

**Forecasting & Financial Modeling**:

- Develop and maintain financial and operational models that forecast payment costs, margin trends, and vendor performance.
- Support scenario analysis for vendor, regulatory, or operational changes affecting unit economics.
- Quantify the financial impact of routing, retry, and processor decisions.
- Partner with the Head of Payment Strategy to produce executive-ready reports and trend analyses for performance reviews.

**Operational Enablement**:

- Partner with Product and Engineering to translate insights into system logic and automated reporting.
- Collaborate with Finance and Data teams to ensure consistent definitions, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Document methodologies, metrics, and logic behind forecasting and margin tracking models.
- Identify opportunities to **automate recurring analysis and leverage AI tools to improve speed, accuracy, and scale**.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related analytical field.

**Experience**:

- 2-4 years in analytics, business operations, or data-focused roles.
- Experience working in fintech, SaaS, or payments environments preferred.
- Proven ability to write and optimize SQL queries across large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools (Looker, Metabase, Tableau, or Power BI).
- Familiarity with Python or R for automation, anomaly detection, or AI-assisted analysis is a plus.

**Skills**:

- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of unit economics, payment data structures, and vendor cost models.
- Comfort with large datasets, data modeling, and trend forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting insights clearly to technical and business stakeholders. Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
