International architecture and engineering firm recognized as one of the fastest-growing architecture, engineering, planning, and environmental consulting firms in the U.S., is seeking a talented Mid to Senior-level Controls Designer for its Food and Consumer Products (FCP) business unit. This position will support national projects while working collaboratively with an international team. The controls designer will prepare control drawings, bills of materials, and cable schedules for the clients.
**Responsibilities**
- Works from both own designs and designs of others, complies data, performs design computations, makes quantity take-offs, and assists in preparation of cost estimates.
- Drafts interpretation of own design into completed working drawings and applies design fundamentals.
- Develops project details, prepares selections, and adapts to alternatives.
- Maintains working knowledge of the discipline's codes and studies non-routine code issues.
- Performs production of construction documents.
- Performs routine design calculations for the review of the project engineer/architect and prepares basic layouts.
- Has occasional external customer contact.
- May direct the drafting effort, within own discipline, and coordinate work effort with other disciplines.
- May research equipment selection or materials and provide information to project engineer/architect for specifications.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of five years experience in electrical controls
- Experience in PLC programming, ideally in the food and consumer product industry
- AutoCAD experience required.
- Revit a plus but not required.
- Strong communications and ability to solve complex problems.
- Ability to travel nationally required
**Additional information**
- 50K to 60K gross monthly plus additional benefits.
- Hybrid work: León Office
