Senior Accountant

**The Opportunity**:
Our client, a manufacturing facility located in Mexico, has partnered with ML6 in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their team In this role, you will manage day-to-day financial/accounting activities, oversee budgeting, projections, and reporting. You will also ensure regulatory compliance and internal control, develop management indicators and propose control mechanisms for improvement and optimization of internal processes.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Monitors the company's internal processes and controls, establishing controls and improvements in processes as required.
- Controls the company's fixed assets.
- Oversees compliance with tax returns for local, state, and federal governments.
- Prepares worksheets for external audits and participates in addressing audit requests for the issuance of financial reports and tax opinions.
- Performs internal audits and periodic reviews in various areas.
- Proposes process-related cost reductions.
- Oversees compliance with Foreign Trade obligations with the Ministry of Economy. Supervises and coordinates the staff in charge of Foreign Trade activities to ensure compliance with the various foreign trade obligations in coordination with foreign trade advisors.
- Prepares accounting records and activities in compliance with established deadlines.
- Participates in the preparation of budgets for each department and oversees their execution.
- Ensures that payroll-related activities are carried out in a timely manner and in accordance with internal policy and legal provisions.
- Monitors inventory, operating, administrative, and human resources management expenses and recommends cost reduction measures without sacrificing the quality of products and services.
- Ensures proper invoicing.
- Treasury & Banks
- Audits bank reconciliations.
- Ensures that accounting and financial records are filed correctly.
- Prepares financial statements.
- Recommends parameters and indicators to measure the company's financial health.
- Calculates and analyzes financial metrics.
- Manages the annual budget.
- Forecasts market and industry trends for financial decision-making.
- Calculates discrepancies with the established budget and reports significant variances to senior management.
- Processes costs in the financial management system.
- Provides additional financial analysis.
- Formulates projections regarding capital investments and contract negotiations.
- Ensures that the company complies with legislative requirements related to reporting to the relevant authorities at the municipal, state, and federal levels.
- Performs activities related to the closing of the accounting period.
- Prepares reports required by management.

**What You'll Need to Be Successful**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Public Accounting (Certificate)
- 5+ years of experience in a similar position
- Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience with an ERP System
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Honest with excellent work ethic
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Analytical
- Resilient and able to work under pressure
- Results-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Advanced conversational and written English
