Operations Controller, Services BA Finance

We are looking for an Operations Controller to first act as Project Controller in an EPC project building a factory and later take the position as Operations Controller when the factory is up and running. The position is within Beneficiation, Dewatering & Hydrometallurgy Services Business Line in Services BA and reports to the Finance Business Partner of the Business Line.

In the Project Controlling role key focus is on detailed financial planning, follow-up and cost control of the project in close co-operation with project management. Participation in planning and implementation of financial systems and tools ensuring accurate reporting of the factory operations is essential.

The Operations Controller has a key role in driving the quality and efficiency of the operations working close with factory management and key stakeholders. Ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting and plans according to company standards is essential. Monitoring operations performance and ability to analyze deviations is important.

Solid knowledge of financial processes & systems and good communication skills are essential success factors in the role. Interest to learn new, project experience and knowledge of logistics and/or manufacturing processes is an advantage.

**As a Operations Controller your responsibilities are**:

- Act as a finance partner for factory management
- Prepare financial and operative reporting according to company standards
- Monitor financial performance against plan and prepare variance analysis and proposals for improvements e.g. in cost effectiveness
- Maintain rolling estimate and make annual plan together with factory management.
- Analyse accuracy and process quality of manufacturing operations and make recommendations and improvement proposals.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis when needed
- Ensure financial compliance in factory operations
- Ensure accuracy of inventory transactions and reconcile with physical inventory
- Control production work-in-progress
- Monitor changes in product costing and provide analysis on impacts to rolling estimate
- Manage controlling related master data according to global standards
- Act as lead coordinator working with Project Manager’s, Global Project Control and local Finance to enforce compliance with global Metso Outotec project templates and processes.

**Technical, professional skills**:

- education in economics or accounting (university or high school)
- advanced skills in MS Excel, SAP FI/CO (preferred) or any other ERP systems
- Power BI (as and advantage
- Fluent in English skills (written and oral)
- Experience in project controlling and/or logistics/manufacturing is an advantage
