We are going to build a 24x7 DBA service line within our Managed Services team, with **experience in management (Service Now or similar) and ticket systems**.

Proposed Shift Hours in Eastern USA times (will have to adjust for Daylight Savings Time):

- 9am - 6pm
- 5pm - 1am
- 1am - 10am

**General day to day responsibilities**:

- Extremely strong written & spoken English (there will be client interaction on a daily basis which will require very strong English skills)
- Ability to work independently
- Provision, install, upgrade, and manage databases across various environments, including on-premises and Cloud (Azure) solutions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate in documenting, updating, and communicating key processes and documentation within the database environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, integration challenges, and other database-related concerns promptly and effectively.
- Determine the best placement of databases in on-premises or Cloud solutions based on performance, security, and scalability requirements.
- Implement and maintain best practices for database administration, including backups, security measures, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new processes, change management, and problem management strategies related to the database ecosystem.
- Database Administration proficiency with at least following RDBMS platforms: MS SQL Server

**Experience with**:

- Database administration tools used for data management and design (such as SQL Developer, etc.)
- Support and troubleshooting of Microsoft SQL Server
- Integration of BI (PowerBI, SSIS), Reporting (SSRS), and Analytic tools with DBMS platforms
- Supporting large data warehouses
- SQL clustering troubleshooting
- Data transformation and integration
- Azure Database technologies
- Leverage Logic Monitor for monitoring and alerting
- Service Now fundamental

**Ability to**:

- Plan and install database software and database systems
- Develop tools, utilities, and procedures to automate maintenance functions
- Develop database stored procedures and triggers
- Define and develop tests for verification and validation of database solutions and installations

**Knowledge of**:

- Database performance tuning techniques and tools, with ability to debug and tune SQL including T-SQL queries.
- Database backup and recovery techniques and tools, HA/Replication and disaster recovery
- Hardware and operating systems (Linux and Windows) including scripting, file management, and server security
- Database modeling including both logical and physical design and referential integrity concepts
- Software development methodologies, tools, and processes
- Database security principles, implementation, and management
- Successful teaming and communication skills including documentation abilities
- ITIL IT Service Management Framework
- Automation and scripting in languages such as PowerShell, Perl, or Python.
