Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Process Development Engineer provides economical solutions to create & improve processes for the manufacture of wire & cable. This position interacts with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Cable Assembly Engineering, Manufacturing, Test laboratories, raw material suppliers and equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the development & industrialization activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base.
Primary Responsibilities, Tasks & Deliverables:
- Product / Process validation & transfer
- Assist with product qualification
- Process improvement & documentation - Bulk Cable
- Assist all areas of cable manufacturing as required.
- Support Product Development validation & qualification activities.
- Assist with organizing and running DOEs
- Support the development of PFMEA, 8D, FA
- Assist Tooling Specification & Design activities.
- Support SAFE Activities
- Support ISO Activities
- Provide Technical support for maintenance activities.
- Provide any support for any activities or projects necessary to support the business
**What your background should look like**:
Job Requirements/Experience Necessary
- Manufacturing, Mechanical or Plastics Engineering Degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of wire & cable process engineering experience..
- Working Knowledge in SPC/Six Sigma/Lean
- CAD Experience Required
- Knowledge of materials, processes, and systems used in the manufacture of wire & cable a must.
- Up to 30% International Travel Required.
