Project overview: The App Engineering organization covers the development of distinct product versions for approximately a dozen airline customers. Some are large strategic customers where most of the product development is centered. Some are smaller and largely just being maintained with mínimal product investment. The App Engineering teams span Spain, Colombia and the Philippines. This group overall is over 175 people and has fewer than 5 proven engineering people leaders to organize themselves.
- Position overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer with AWS expertise to join our dynamic team in supporting the development of a flight Internet Booking Engine. In this role, you will collaborate with software developers, system operators, and IT staff to efficiently manage code releases, deployments, and provide other DevOps support.
- The position includes one passive on-call shift per week, where you'll need to be available to assist if necessary. On-call shifts are compensated separately.
- Technology stack: The Internet Booking Engine, built in ASP.NET and hosted on AWS, is divided into backend and frontend architectures.
- Frontend: The frontend consists of a CDN powered by Amazon CloudFront with S3 buckets for file storage.
- Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable AWS infrastructure
- Develop CI/CD pipelines to streamline code deployment and infrastructure updates
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring high availability and security
- Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure system integrity
- Implement security best practices and perform regular security assessments
- Optimize costs and performance of AWS resources
- Requirements: Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on AWS
- Strong knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation)
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline
- Nice to have: Skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages
