Responsable del uso efectivo del personal, el material y el equipo. Participa en la formación, desarrollo y evaluación de los miembros del equipo. Participa en el desarrollo de equipos altamente efectivos. Lidera los procesos de Sistemas Globales de Manufactura (GMS) y sirve como recursos de apoyo al lanzamiento y actividades piloto en áreas asignadas. Cumple o supera la programación de costes de producción y mantiene los requisitos de calidad. Mantiene el conocimiento de los estándares de calidad y comunica los objetivos de calidad del departamento, y aprovecha los recursos para resolver problemas de calidad. Construye y mantiene buenas relaciones de trabajo con los empleados, el sindicato y la dirección. Comprende y administra constantemente los Acuerdos Nacionales y Locales entre General Motors y United Auto Workers Union. Implementa y sigue sistemas que evitan la repetición de problemas conocidos. Promover prácticas de trabajo seguras y alcanzar objetivos de ergonomía, salud y seguridad y limpieza. Motiva, capacita y desarrolla empleados para realizar eficazmente sus trabajos utilizando métodos estandarizados. Asegúrese de que los miembros del equipo reciban un JIT adecuado (formación de instrucción en el trabajo). Logre los horarios de producción y los requisitos del producto aplicando principios de fabricación ajustada/sincrónicos con énfasis en la reducción de variaciones, los costos de control y lograr mejoras de productividad. Entrena, enseñe, aconseje y guíe a los Líderes de Grupo en estas responsabilidades.
