Chemical and/or Maintenence Engineer:
1. Directs and coordinates activities of cheese production areas in processing raw materials and manufacturing customer specific products.

2. Responsible for the total operation of the shift.

3. Maintain a working knowledge of all Cheese Department functions, jobs, responsibilities, and SOP’s.

4. Ensures adherence to production schedule.

5. Leader of daily crew meetings that include issues such as: safety, quality, and production.

6. Responsible for completed chemical checks and ensuring that the information is recorded in the computer.

7. Addresses minor discipline problems with tam members; refers more serious cases to cheese manager.

8. Assists with planning and preparation of training and orientation for new warehouse team members.

9. Ensures adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.

10. Responsible for running machinery and troubleshooting problems.

11. Creates KPI reports and troubleshoots quality issues.

12. Monitors hiring, training of new hires, employee morale and development.

13. Ensures adherence to safety principles and practices.

14. Train employees regarding SOP’s, GMP’s, proper sanitation, safe work practices, good housekeeping, etc. and enforce these policies and practices throughout the department.

15. Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.

16. Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).

17. Driving a positive and productive culture by example daily.

18. Performs other duties as assigned.
