We are looking for a hands-on, strategic **Head of Finance** to lead our finance function, manage our global accounting and financial operations, and support our ambitious growth plans.

**Who are you?**
This role requires a seasoned finance leader who is equally comfortable defining strategic financial direction and rolling up their sleeves to execute day-to-day tasks. You’ll manage the finances of both our US and Spanish entities, while ensuring our operations in Latin America run smoothly.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the full accounting cycle for **Wise Athena Inc. (US)** and **Wise Athena SL (Spain)**.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment processing, including salaries for both entities.
- Manage **Accounts Receivable**: issuing invoices, managing collections, and ensuring cash flow health, particularly for clients in Latin America.
- Lead risk management efforts, identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial, operational, and compliance risks across all regions.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in all operating jurisdictions, including financial reporting standards, tax laws, and industry-specific regulations
- Ensure accurate product quotations for clients.
- Prepare periodic financial reports for both entities.
- Review, develop, and ensure all agreements with customers comply with company policies.
- Lead the preparation and management of financial budgets and forecasts.
- Partner with the People & Culture Lead to approve annual compensation reviews and establish financial objectives for employee bonuses
- Identify and secure alternative funding sources.
- Maintain strong relationships with investors.
- Ensure compliance with all tax obligations for both entities.
- Manage grants and loans.
- Oversee banking operations and relationships.
- Review and manage employee expense reports and supplier invoices.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a Head of Finance, Finance Director, or similar leadership role.
- **Strong expertise in US and Spain accounting standards** and tax compliance.
- Experience with financial operations in **Latin America**, including invoicing, collections, and local compliance requirements.
- Track record of managing finances in a **scale-up or startup** environment (not just corporate).
- Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on — able to wear multiple hats without a dedicated team initially.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Advanced knowledge of financial software and tools.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience working in SaaS or technology companies.
- Knowledge of fundraising processes, investor relations, and grant/loan management.
- Previous work in a remote and globally distributed team environment.
