Support the R&D Manager for an assigned domain in the planning and management of research and development (R&D) activities and resources. Support the development of projects and identify the budget of the specific functional area (e.g. hardware/software/ electronic/mechanical). Lead R&D Engineers in order to meet requirements of product development projects.
**This position reports to**:
R&D/Technology Manager
**Your responsibilities**:
- Has a responsibility as a team leader and applies knowledge and competences to a variety of activities.
- Works according to a project plan and performs as active leader in problem solving.
- Independently solves applied research, engineering and technology problems by using theoretical knowledge.
- Validate and coordinate complex design analysis and calculations based on engineering practices and business considerations.
- Ensure designs based on top-down methodology and lean manufacturing methodologies, safety, and reliability.
- Acts as senior project member providing experience and expertise in the execution and use of supporting tools, processes and methods.
- Develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction.
- Acts as a mentor, transfer skills and knowledge, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
- Actively works to identify and mitigate risks in research and development project and activities.
**Your background**:
- Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical or Electrical-Mechanical Engineering.
- 5 to 8 years of experience on Research & Development, Technology, Product, Design and Application Engineering areas.
- Experience in Medium Voltage ANSI / IEC Switchgear / MCC design.
- Strong background in Mechanical Design.
- Expertise Level - Basic on new products development, re-design, improvement of existing and/or customized products to fulfill.
- Standards and/or customers requirements.
- Type Testing knowledge at independent labs.
- Knowledge and experience in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D software.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Advanced English.
