Job Title: Inside Technical Sales Representative

Reports to: Vice President of Sales, Plastics

Job Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new leads, identifying sales opportunities, arranging appointments for Field Sales Representatives with potential new customers, supporting the sales staff, communicating with customers and ensuring a smooth sales process.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field, and/or equivalent training and experience in Technical Sales with a chemical company

Experience in a Technical Inside Sales and/or outside Sales position in the chemical industry

Experience in Business-to-Business sales

Proven track record of telephone “cold calling,” and follow through of “warm leads” to achieve sales goals, dialing dozens of calls per day

Ability to research and qualify potential new customers

Strong phone presence and experience

Experience working with Microsoft Office & CRM/ERP systems

Excellent English verbal and written communications skills

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Exceptional customer service skills

Mexican Employee: Ability to enter United States. Company will arrange work visa

Ability to attend work on a consistent and regular basis

Major Responsibilities

Essential Functions of the Job:
Seventy-five percent of time spent on telephone calling prospective customers, qualifying prospects and closing sales and/or making appointments for Field Sales Representatives to call on customers

Follow up on cold and warm leads to further the sales process

Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and qualify new leads

Providing outstanding support and service

Arrange meetings for the sales staff

Explain and demonstrate technical features of products and services to customers

Stay informed about competing products and services

Upsell products and services

Managing the interaction between different internal departments to full orders and fulfill sample requests

Update and expand database of prospects

On occasion, travel the sales staff to make sales calls, sales presentations or attend conferences within the United States

Develop meaningful relationships with customers to encourage sales and loyalty

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Physical Requirements:
Able to talk in English on the telephone for hours at a time. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Ability to operate a computer, telephone, and other office equipment. Ability to move to and from different parts of the work area. Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis. Ability to work either at the company’s office and/or remotely. Ability to use a computer key board. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to travel by airlane, train and/or vehicle. Ability to drive a vehicle.

Essential Mental Functions

Ability to exercise independent judgment, such as determining if sales prospect(s) are viable. Self-directing and organized. Ability to interact with potential customers in achieving new business. Ability to handle a variety of duties which may be interrupted or changed by immediate circumstances.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $50,000.00 per month
