**What your background should look like**:
This position will require sustaining engineering responsibility for assigned electromechanical products (circuit breakers, relays, contactors) and be involved in several engineering related projects. The projects will include platforming / cost reduction, product extension/NPI, product testing, and resolution of material and manufacturing issues. The position will require a high level of Manufacturing process experience combined with product design and performance understanding. Must be a highly driven individual capable of working with a variety of teams (including Operations, Field Engineering, and Product Management) in order to drive and implement action items. Product / sustaining engineering responsibility of assigned products will include manufacturing support, product performance, engineering specifications, component drawings, BOM’s, and quality issues as they arise. The position will also be expected to help support product testing in the test lab as needed. Expectations also include the ability to organize project meetings across multiple disciplines, publish minutes and action items, and prepare progress updates and reports to management as needed.
Job Requirements / Description:
- Five or more years’ experience in electro-mechanical product design and/or manufacturing / sustaining engineering type roles.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once, develop project plans, and drive engineering and cost reduction projects across multiple disciplines to improve business performance.
- Excellent written/verbal English communication skills; ability to participate in meetings and work with US colleagues in English.
- Working knowledge of various metal and plastic materials, manufacturing processes and electro-mechanical product design principles.
- Ability to work across multiple disciplines to solve manufacturing, quality, and performance issues of electromechanical products such as circuit breakers, contactors, and relays.
- Familiar with various Engineering and Project Management tools such as LEAN / 6-sigma, DoE, FEMA, Value Stream mapping, Microsoft Project, etc.
- Experience with AutoCAD / Creo software and ability to design and modify product components, assemblies, and drawings a plus.
- Experience with setting up and conducting electro-mechanical product evaluation and testing (functional testing, electrical endurance, temperature testing) is considered a plus.
- Ability to work independently of others as well as in a team setting; driven to meet and exceed assigned work and be held accountable for results.
