As Crash Safety Engineer, the engineer will have the opportunity to work in an inclusive environment within Ford of Mexico while leading the delivery of the Crash Safety global requirements for global products. The engineer will use advanced engineering tools to assess and validate vehicle level systems such as CAE full vehicle model and physical testing at component, subsystem and vehicle level.
- Bachelor´s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent required. Master degree in engineering preferred.
- Fluent English

- Quick learning ability and self-taught mindset
- Solid basis of mechanics engineering.
- Experience with non-linear CAE assessments for high strain rate events. LSDYNA experience preferred.
- High capacity for root cause finding based on test or CAE data.
- Ability to interface with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Clear communication.
- Software usage: Altair Hyperworks tools (Hypermesh, Hypercrash, Hyperview, Hypergraph), Primer, Catia or CAD software, LS-Dyna, Teamcenter.
- Assess crashworthiness performance for high speed crash test modes by means of CAE tools and physical tests.
- Perform post-crash test analysis to identify issue root cause and enhance CAE correlation.
- Interpret CAE/test results and produce concise summaries to be communicated to D&R engineers and Management.
- Develop component and subsystem level test methodologies to validate designs in preparation for crash testing.
- Support design progression with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Drive design changes to ensure Crash Safety compliance.
- Perform optimization studies by means of CAE tools and 6-Sigma Methodology.
- Support and lead technical meetings with relevant stakeholders.
- Document lessons learned.
- Participate in global Crash Safety forums.
