**About the opportunity**
Ellucian is seeking an innovative Full-Stack** Software Engineer I** to join the R&D team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a new next generation cloud-based product for Ellucian. This is a role where you will be fully hands on and will be part of the design, development, and adoption of this exciting & new cloud-based higher education solution. We are looking for a motivated contributor with development skills in multiple programming languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Javascript, REACT, and AWS.You will be joining a team focused on delivering world-class, customer-focused solutions as part of the leading cloud software company for higher education
**Where you will make an impact**
- You will participate in the design, development and delivery of new solutions for the next generation of Higher Education products
- You will participate on a team that is leading a new product in the area of communication management
- You will participate in collaborative scrum activities to define, scope, and implement stories based on business requirements that drive SaaS/cloud success
- You will work closely with Cloud and DevOps engineers to ensure CI/CD pipelines are coded to accelerate delivery and drive down costs.
- You will incorporate industry best practices and influence team standards to enhance maintainability and extensibility
**What you will bring**
- Understanding of implementing CI/CD (e.g., Jenkins)
- Understanding infrastructure-as-code (preferably Terraform)
- Understanding of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Packer)
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud technologies or other cloud technologies
- Understanding with container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Hands-on experience with the development of highly available, scalable enterprise systems
- Understanding of microservices and serverless architecture
- Independent and self-motivated
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of scrum development methodology
- BS Computer Science or similar degree
