Mro Buyer/planner

**Brief Description**:
Purchase a group of commodities and services which include items of high technical content and which may be sophisticated in nature. Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Procure raw materials and hardware items as required through approved sources of supply assuring that the following criteria is meet:
1. Competitive pricing

2. On-time delivery (to required support)

3. All engineering and technical criteria is negotiated based on program requirements

4. Blanket and/or long term agreements developed

5. Purchasing policies and procedures are adhered to

6. Adherence to customer requirements when applicable per contract
- Support MRO and shop buys through discrete orders, VMI, and KanBan programs.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining cost reduction and method improvement programs with reporting and documentation to purchasing management.
- Assist in establishing new suppliers as needed for new development programs, working with Engineering and Quality to ensure adherence to Regal Rexnord requirements.
- Maintain an assertive follow-up system to ensure schedule compliance.
- Maintain a professional, non-personal and supportive relationship with suppliers.
- Develop supplier relationships to enable Regal Rexnord to be aware of supplier capacity and future capabilities.
- Interface with Production, Production Control, Quality Assurance, Finance, Sales, Engineering, Traffic, MIS to achieve the smooth flow of goods and services in order to maintain committed schedules to customers.
- Any other activity assigned for the Supervisor or Materials Manager.

**Job Requirements**
- Minimum of five years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Purchasing Management, or a related field.
- English as second language 90% proficiency.
- A working knowledge of the legal aspects of purchasing.
- Knowledge of the mechanics of an MRP / ERP system and how it applies to production control and procurement processes.
- Awareness of best practices in sustainability within the MRO supply chain.
- Background with formed metal and exotic materials preferred.
- Knowledge of metals, processing and all related information necessary to communicate effectively internally and externally.
- Familiarity with commodities to be purchased, sources of supply, market conditions and available products.
- Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures and corporate national/international agreements.
- Knowledge of the mechanics of blanket orders and long term agreements.
- Flexibility and creativity in developing new methodology and ideas to achieve cost reduction and/or efficiencies in operation.
- Offshore buying experience a plus.
- Must have excellent advance skills in Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookups, etc).
- Outside process (heat treating, platting, outside machining) a plus.
- Must have basic knowledge reading blue prints and routings.
- Must have excellent communications skills.
- Results-oriented.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
